Accept Mobile Money payments on your own online store
Your customers already pay with Mobile Money every day. Vendar lets them pay you the same way, straight from your online store, on any Ghanaian network. You don't share your number, you don't wait for a screenshot, and you don't spend the evening matching payments to orders. Card payments are accepted too, through the same Paystack checkout.

The problem with "I've sent it"
Most small businesses in Ghana collect payments by hand. You send your MoMo number, the customer sends money, then sends a screenshot, and you open your MoMo app to check it arrived. That works for a few orders a day. It gets messy once you're busy:
- Screenshots can be edited, and fake payment alerts are a real risk.
- Payments arrive without an order reference, so you can't tell who paid for what.
- Customers who pay late at night have to wait for you to confirm.
- Your personal and business money end up mixed together.
With checkout built into your store, the payment is tied to the order. When it goes through, the order is marked paid.
Every Ghana MoMo network, processed by Paystack
Vendar's checkout accepts all the Mobile Money networks in Ghana:
- MTN MoMo
- Telecel Cash (formerly Vodafone Cash)
- AirtelTigo Money
Payments are processed by Paystack, an established payment provider that operates in Ghana. Your customers see a familiar Mobile Money prompt and approve the payment on their own phone.
Card payments are accepted too, at the same checkout. Paystack's 2% processing fee is paid by the shopper for Mobile Money and card payments, so you receive the full product price.
How it works for your customer
- They choose their items on your Vendar store, including with VendarChat on the store's website, or through Vendar's WhatsApp shopping assistant. The website and WhatsApp shopping assistants and the WhatsApp operations copilot come with the Pro plan. The WhatsApp bot runs on Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform. The bots give shoppers the shop's contact number instead of handing the chat to a person.
- They choose Mobile Money or card at checkout. For Mobile Money they pick their network and enter their number.
- They approve the payment on their phone for Mobile Money, the same way they approve any other MoMo payment. Card payments are completed in the same Paystack checkout.
- The order is confirmed for them and for you.
Your customer doesn't need a new app. Paying with the Mobile Money wallet they already use builds trust, especially with first-time buyers. Customers who prefer a card can pay that way too.
What you see as the merchant
- Orders marked paid automatically in your Vendar dashboard.
- Each payment linked to its order, customer and products.
- Payment history in one place, which helps with bookkeeping.
- Inventory that updates when a paid order comes in.
What it costs
- Payment processing: Paystack's 2% processing fee is added at checkout and paid by the shopper, for Mobile Money and card payments, so you receive the full product price.
- Your Vendar plan: Starter is GHS 2,000 per year and Pro is GHS 4,000 per year. Both include integrated payments. See pricing.
For example, on a GHS 100 order the shopper pays GHS 102 and you receive GHS 100. That is Paystack's 2% processing fee, for Mobile Money and card payments.
Payouts follow Paystack's standard settlement schedule, and refunds go through Paystack's standard refund process.
Vendar vs setting up payments yourself
You can accept MoMo online without Vendar. You could open an account with a payment gateway, build or buy a website, connect the two and keep it running. Some merchants use Shopify with a payment app for Ghana. That route works, but it means dealing with several companies, several logins, and often a subscription billed in US dollars.
Vendar puts your store, Paystack-powered Mobile Money and card checkout, the WhatsApp assistant, VendarChat and your domain in one place, with yearly plans priced in cedis. Vendar gives you a domain, or use your own custom domain if you have one. The website and WhatsApp shopping assistants and the WhatsApp operations copilot come with the Pro plan. The WhatsApp bot runs on Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform. The bots give shoppers the shop's contact number instead of handing the chat to a person. See MoMo vs card payments in Ghana for how Mobile Money and card checkout compare.
Why it matters for your sales
When paying is easy, fewer customers drop off between "I'll take it" and actually paying. A clear checkout also tells new customers that your business is set up properly, which helps when someone is buying from you for the first time. And because every payment is tied to an order, you spend less time on admin and more time selling.
